Baking oatmeal pie with apples

Apples are perhaps the most affordable fruit that can be bought in our stores at any time of the year and at a wide range of prices. Maybe that's why we love cooking dishes with them so much – cheap, simple, satisfying, and varied. Due to the fact that apples are low in calories, they are included in a wide variety of diets and fasting days. But the most important thing is that apples have a positive effect on health and strengthen our immune system. Apples can be eaten both fresh, dried, and soaked; they can be used to make omelets, pancakes, desserts, sweets, pies, cheesecakes, charlotte, etc.

If you love pastries and sweets, but constantly deny yourself them for fear of spoiling your figure, then bake a healthy, but no less delicious oatmeal pie with apples.

For the pie, we need the following ingredients: 600 g. ready-made oatmeal cookies, 300 g. butter, 2-3 apples, 400 g. cream cheese, 150 g. peeled walnuts, 150 ml. heavy cream, 2 eggs, 150 g. sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla sugar and ground cinnamon, a sprig of mint or lemon balm for decoration. Put the cookies in the bowl of a blender or food processor and grind until crumbs form. Melt the butter and combine it with the oatmeal crumbs, mix well.

Prepare a baking dish and tamp the resulting mass with your hands along its bottom and walls. The sides should be high enough and thick enough so that the filling does not overflow. Put the cake pan in the refrigerator and start preparing the filling. A food processor or a blender with a speed control function is best suited for this.

Mix cream cheese with plain and vanilla sugar in a bowl. At low speed, without stopping beating, add the eggs one at a time.
When the mass becomes homogeneous in consistency, pour in the cream and mix very well. When both the cake and the filling are ready, take the apples, peel them from the seeds and cut into thin slices. Chop the walnuts in a mortar or in a blender, set aside several whole pieces for decoration.

Pour half of the filling into the cake pan, spread the apple slices on it tightly enough, sprinkle them with chopped nuts and part of the cinnamon. Cover the pie with the remaining cream, place decorations of apple slices on it (the pattern can be any you wish) and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon. Place the pie in an already heated oven (160 degrees) for one hour.

After the time has elapsed, remove the pie from the oven and from the mold, allow to cool slightly and decorate with set aside nuts and a sprig of mint (lemon balm). An original and healthy oatmeal pie with apples is very good to serve with a cup of fragrant strong tea.
